What are Hand-Tied Hair Extensions and how are they applied?

Hand tied extensions are a type of hair extension that is becoming increasingly popular. These extensions are made from thin wefts of hair that are tied together using two strings. This makes them much thinner and lighter than traditional extensions, which can be a huge advantage for people with fine or thin hair. The process involves first placing a row of small microbeads is created across the head. The wefts are then sewn onto this row, using thread to secure them in place. The final result is a natural-looking and long-lasting hairstyle that can add length and/or volume.

What makes IBE® different than other methods?

IBE® is the #1 most requested hand tied extension method because of the emphasis it puts on the health of a client's natural hair and scalp.

Installed with a flexible foundation, IBE® is able to achieve a more comfortable, flexible and versatile experience without the damage done by many other methods.

How long do they last?

The extension hair (wefts) lasts up to 4 months depending on proper at home care, some of our clients get up to 6 months; we retail all products REQUIRED to maintain your extensions at home.

As your hair grows the extensions grow out, re-installs are required every 6-7 weeks.

04

Are there any special care instructions for Hand Tied Extensions?

Since Hair Extensions lack the natural oils that our hair receives from our scalp, they are more prone to drying out. So, they require moisturizing shampoo and conditioner as well as daily oiling on the extension hair to get the most wear out of them. We retail an extension specific shampoo, conditioner, leave in spray and oil, it's what we REQUIRE for these extensions.

Another imperative part of Hair Extension care is brushing. Brushing thoroughly through your hair at least three times per day.

This is just a brief overview of the care needed for Hair Extensions, Sarah will detail aftercare with you during your appointment.
